open ENergy TRansition ANalyses for a low-Carbon Economy
… aims at developing, using and disseminating an open, transparent and integrated modelling platform for assessing low-carbon transition pathways in Europe.
This report focuses on the steps and requirements that the process of opening up a model should comply with, as well as some evidences of the opening-up of the models within the project.
The energy transition is an unprecedented change for European society and economy and requires the involvement of all stakeholders: policy and decision makers, energy companies, grid operators, civil society, NGOs, researchers, other interested actors.
During the next four years openENTRANCE will host workshops to discuss future low carbon scenarios, transition pathways, case studies and the structuring of the open modelling platform, including a special workshop at the European Parliament. It will also be an organiser of the 2020 edition of the EMP-E (Energy Modelling Platform Europe) conference.
